Kristine Ringstad Vartdal is a strategic advisor and experienced executive, working with leaders, organisations and boards on strategy, execution and transformation.

Through Kvart X, she takes on strategic advisory mandates and interim executive roles, bringing both the experience to lead and the judgement to advise.

She practised as a lawyer for over a decade, with a background spanning corporate and employment law, with employment and labour law as her specialism, including extensive litigation experience. Her career took her from international law firm practice at Selmer, through in-house counsel roles in shipping and global business at Wilhelmsen, to NHO. At NHO, she advised and litigated on behalf of member companies in complex employment and labour law matters, working with major Norwegian and international companies as well as small and medium-sized businesses.

At NHO, Norway's leading employers' organisation representing 33,000 member companies, she moved from lawyer into executive leadership, building and scaling a cross-functional division from the ground up. As part of NHO's extended executive management for five years, she held progressively broader responsibility across legal services, product and service development, design, technology, marketing, communications and member engagement, driving organisational change, digital transformation and stakeholder management at scale.

She holds a law degree from the University of Oslo and a Certificate in Global Management from INSEAD, completed at their Asia campus in Singapore, with further executive programmes at INSEAD in business transformation and board leadership, including the IN-BOARD Leadership Programme at INSEAD Fontainebleau. She has also completed executive education at NTNU in strategy and leadership, innovation leadership, and marketing and internationalisation, alongside programmes in board competence at BI Norwegian Business School and organisational psychology at the University of Oslo.

Board experience spans more than a decade, including positions in family-owned businesses across both operational and investment phases, an advisory board role and as an appointed member of the National Appeals Board for Employer Sick Pay Cases. She currently serves on the board of INSEAD Alumni Association Norway, contributing to the alumni network globally.

Her international profile includes experience from Singapore, where she also studied at INSEAD's Asia campus, with earlier time spanning studies in Mexico and France and a legal traineeship in the United States.
